Our cashmere can be machine washed at 30 degrees. Use either hair shampoo or, even better, Cashmere detergent for long-lasting pleasure.
Cashmere is so valuable because not only are there very few cashmere goats, but quite little fibre is obtained per animal. For one jumper, 4 goats have to be combed! In addition, the process can only be repeated 1 time a year.
The secret of really good cashmere is that the longer fibres result in fewer nodules. But even the best cashmere in the world will pill at first. The big difference is that it stops after the first combing.
More than just “organic”. Because for us, the species-appropriate husbandry of the animals is important. There is no seal of approval for this, but happy goats, proud shepherds and better quality for our customers.
Although Vinterlyn itself is not yet certified, our cashmere yarn is sourced exclusively from mills that hold internationally recognized fibre certifications. This guarantees the softness, durability, and high quality of every product we create.
Cashmere really does have very special properties. It not only keeps you cosy and warm, but is also pleasantly breathable, surprisingly light and particularly kind to the skin.
